Hi,
I had the request to add First Gens F-bodies to the VIN decoder, so I have added them. There isn’t much information in a First Gen Camaro/Firebird VIN, but it will tell you the basics like if it is a V8 or V6 car.
Let me know if you find any problems. I am not an expert on First Gens, so don’t take this as the bible. If you know something is decoding wrong please let me know and I’ll fix.

This little app decodes VINs for 82-92 F-bodies. It includes a barcode scanner (ZXing, if you don’t already have it when you try to scan you will be prompted to download it) and the ability to fetch RPO codes for a VIN if available through compnine.com
Please leave any feedback on this App for me, of any type, in a comment. Please don’t just say it’s worthless, let me know how I can make it worthwhile! I do not own an Android phone, only a tablet, so I can only sort of test things. I do know that the barcode scanner can be pretty picky, but I don’t have much control over that as I am using an external App to do the barcode reading.
Known issues
Welcome to the PNW3 Android home. Start looking for 1982-1992 Camaro and Firebird related Android applications to be downloaded from this site in apk form. Currently they will not be available in the Android Market or any other market due to the cost involved in setting them up and none of my applications will be a pay to use or incorporate ads. If it does become popular enough I will consider paying for an Android Market account to allow users easier updates and expand the user base.
Look for the posting of my first app soon! It’s a VIN decoder with some other neat features. I’ll be looking for feedback on how to make it better and fix in Force Closes you might encounter.
